Team Michelob Ultra - in its first few years -at the highest goal level of professional polo played in North America was truly very successful....nick-named "America's Team" because of Busch's emphasis on using players from the United States. In fact he played Team Michelob Ultra Polo and Team Michelob Dry and Team Michelob in the early 90's ... several times having two of his teams pitted against one another in Stadium Field finals in Palm Beach. "Mic Bowls"I, II, and III were popular matches, drawing upwards of 6,000 people.
In conjunction with corporate sponsor, Anehuser Busch, Inc the team embarks on a tour of major cities and polo clubs. The Team Michelob Ultra USA TOUR varies from year to year; however, cities including Palm Beach, Dallas, Mobile, Aiken, St.Louis, Boca Raton, Dayton, Vero Beach, Washington, D.C., Roanoke, Williamsburg/Richmond, Milwaukee, Atlanta, San Diego, and Palm Springs are recent stops on the tour.
Busch underwrote the Michelob Triple Crown of Polo for ESPN in 1993 and 1994 ... which featured the three major high goal tournament finals at Palm Beach during that season. And, most recently, he personally underwrote the new MEDIA ROOM and Polo Video for the new Polo Museum and Hall of Fame in Lake Worth, Florida.
